On offer are a number of set hosting packages further down this page that are packed with standard features. We have access to both Linux and Windows-based servers, and can customise your package to almost any configuration on request to support a wide range of databases and languages, larger limits, additional email addresses, and much more! The standard(!) features of each server type have been listed to the right, with available customisable features also shown below.

In general, the most common web hosting packages available on the internet utilise Linux-based servers. Most of the tutorials and documentation you will find on the Internet and in books about creating web pages are geared towards these types of accounts and technologies. They have been around much longer, are used by more people than equivalent Microsoft-based servers, and some will say inherently more reliable and secure. For these reasons, all of WhigWham's set hosting packages described on this page are based on Linux servers.

If, however, you require Microsoft Access and FrontPage support, ASP or Coldfusion scripting components, or ODBC Database support, then a Microsoft-based server package would suit your needs best.

If you are not sure which to choose, we suggest one of our traditional Linux-based packages (you can always switch later!). For those with extremely large web sites, or those with unusually high-traffic and/or bandwidth hosting requirements, please contact us to discuss a dedicated server solution that will meet your needs better.

All of these set packages are based on Linux servers, however clients are able to switch to a Microsoft-based server to gain access to Microsoft Access/Frontpage support for only $125 (AUD), and add ColdFusion support to that for just $99!

Our BASIC Package has more standard features than most other companies offer in their entry-level packages, and is the package already bundled with our smaller web design packages (more). It features a POP email account (no need to have an ISP, use MS Outlook or alternative to check your email), and also has plenty of space for a moderate web site. It even supports CGI based scripts so you can install your own simple shopping cart & other site tools/features!

The DELUXE Package features more server space, 5 (five!) separate POP mail boxes (with individual passwords), and enhanced Webalizer site statistics.
